Bangkok Riverside
The Chao Phraya River is the heart of river life in Bangkok and offers a truly unique experience. Take in the riverside activities such as cruising whether it be a romantic dinner cruise or a lively fun night. Close proximity to Bangkok’s Chinatown, Patpong Road or the commercial districts of Surawongse and Silom Roads. Shopping is an adventure and offers a distinctly different environment from the other Bangkok locations. Some of my favourites include United Centre on Silom Road or River City, located on the river itself. Some very important landmarks lay close by to the river area such as the Temple of Dawn, The Reclining Buddha and the Grand Palace. The river is also gateway to many tours taking in Floating Markets and old style traditional Klong’s where you will see traditional Thai lifestyles. There is an ample choice of fine accommodation including the Oriental Hotel which has been voted the best hotel in the world on numerous occasions.

Perfectly located on Silom Road, the Narai enjoys not only a fantastic location but also represents tremendous value for money. Its Pizza Restaurant is famous in Bangkok and is well patronised by the locals. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the hotel itself has a nice welcoming feel about it. A buffet lunch is a real treat and superb value for money, consisting of Japanese, Thai, Western and a wide selection of salads.

One of my personal favourites. Located right on the banks of "The River of Kings" Chao Phrya River, and has well appointed comfortable rooms with spectacular views up or down the river. If you have had a tough day shopping or sightseeing, be sure to try a Traditional Thai Massage, you won’t be disappointed.

A personal favourite, The Oriental is more than one of the worlds best hotels, it also has many other facilities such as the famous Oriental Thai Cooking School and the Cultural Program of Thailand. The hotel itself boasts an incredible 8 restaurants, 2 swimming pools and a range of other facilities which all contribute to a memorable stay. Afternoon Tea is an old favourite of mine, extremely civilised and memorable.
